Visiting

Start at Square Tower. The main unit has the visitor center, best trails, and most accessible ruins.

Walk the rim trail. The 2-mile loop offers views of multiple structures. Allow 1-2 hours.

Remote units require preparation. Dirt roads, no services, and limited signage. Check conditions at the visitor center.

Tips

Combine with Mesa Verde. Hovenweep makes an excellent half-day addition to a Mesa Verde trip.
