I Work Remote in Denver – These 12 Coffee Shops Actually Have Outlets

Coffee shop with laptops and work setup
Finding outlets in Denver coffee shops is harder than it should be

You know what’s annoying? Finding a coffee shop that says “perfect for working!” and then discovering they have exactly two outlets. For the entire place.

I’ve been working remote in Denver for a while now, and I’ve mapped out which spots actually work for getting work done.

Not just “good wifi” but actual outlets, decent chairs, and staff that won’t give you dirty looks for camping out.

LoDo/Downtown

1. Metropolis Coffee

Location: South Broadway (technically Baker, but close to downtown)

Outlets: Tons, including a whole upstairs

Vibe: Busy but focused

This place gets it. Outlets everywhere, multiple levels, natural light. The upstairs is quieter if you need calls.

Coffee is actually good too. Their breakfast burritos are solid if you forget to eat (which I always do).

Only downside: Parking sucks. But there’s a lot behind the building.

2. The Bardo Coffee House

Location: South Broadway

Outlets: Bar seating + scattered tables

Vibe: Mix of workers and students

They have this long bar with outlets underneath. Perfect for posting up. Mix of tables and booths too.

The wifi is fast. Like actually fast. And they don’t throttle it after an hour like some places.

RiNo/Five Points

Some RiNo spots are designed for remote work

3. Improper City

Location: RiNo

Outlets: Everywhere

Vibe: Literally made for remote work

This isn’t just a coffee shop – it’s basically a casual coworking space. Outlets at every seat. Good coffee. They serve alcohol after 3pm if you need that.

Gets busy but there’s usually space. Back room is quieter for calls.

4. Novo Coffee

Location: Multiple, but downtown one works

Outlets: Decent amount

Vibe: Coffee snobs but in a good way

Good coffee, reliable wifi, enough outlets. The downtown location is less crowded than others.

They actually care about their coffee, so you’re not drinking burnt garbage while you work.

Capitol Hill/Cheesman

5. Hooked on Colfax

Location: City Park area

Outlets: Basement has tons

Vibe: Quirky, lots of regulars

The basement is where you want to be. Quieter, more outlets, you can spread out.

Coffee is decent, food is actually good. They don’t care if you stay all day.

6. Thump Coffee

Coffee shop with natural light and work tables
Natural light makes such a difference for long work days

Location: Capitol Hill (13th Ave)

Outlets: Limited but strategic

Vibe: Serious coffee, serious workers

Not tons of outlets but the ones they have are by the good seats. Amazing coffee.

Parking is a nightmare though. Budget extra time or bike.

Highlands/LoHi

7. Aviano Coffee

Location: Cherry Creek North

Outlets: Decent amount

Vibe: Upscale but not pretentious

Cherry Creek location means parking is easier. Good for client calls – quiet and professional looking.

More expensive but sometimes you need a nice backdrop for video calls.

8. Dazbog Coffee

Location: Multiple locations

Outlets: Usually good

Vibe: Chain but reliable

I know, I know. A chain. But they have outlets, wifi always works, and nobody bothers you.

The 17th Street location downtown is solid for business district access.

South Broadway/Baker

9. Stella’s Coffee Haus

Location: South Pearl

Outlets: Plenty

Vibe: Neighborhood spot

Old school coffee shop. Nothing fancy but everything works. Outlets, wifi, decent coffee.

The regulars are all working too, so it’s acceptable to camp out.

10. Middle State Coffee

Minimalist coffee shop interior
Sometimes simple and clean is exactly what you need

Location: Baker/Highlands

Outlets: Good coverage

Vibe: Bright and airy

Really nice space. Lots of light. The kind of place where you feel productive just sitting there.

Coffee is excellent. Food options are limited but good.

Hidden Gems

11. Bardo Coffee House

Location: South Broadway

Outlets: Everywhere at the bar

Vibe: Always busy but spacious

They have outlets under the bar all along it. Game changer. Plus booths and tables.

Open late too, which is rare for Denver coffee shops.

12. Queen City Collective

Location: West 7th

Outlets: Decent

Vibe: Coffee by day, beer by night

Coffee in the morning, brewery opens at 3pm. Perfect for those long days when coffee stops working.

Quiet enough for calls. They have a back area that’s perfect for meetings.

The Ones That Don’t Work

Let me save you some time:

Crema: Great coffee, no outlets, tiny space

Huckleberry: Too loud, limited outlets

Blue Sparrow: Amazing coffee, terrible for working

Most brewery coffee shops: No outlets by design

Pro Tips for Coffee Shop Working

Timing is everything: 10am-noon and 2-4pm are golden. Avoid morning rush and lunch.

Buy something every 2 hours: Don’t be that person. Support the business.

Headphones = Do Not Disturb: Denver people usually respect this.

Back corner strategy: First thing I do is scan for corner seats with outlets.

When You Need a Backup

Denver Public Library: Free, outlets everywhere, actually nice

Whole Foods: Upstairs seating areas, nobody cares how long you stay

Hotel lobbies: The Crawford, Oxford Hotel – just walk in confidently

The Reality Check

Some days, none of these work. Too crowded, internet down, whatever.

That’s when you hit up actual coworking spaces. But for daily work? These coffee shops have saved me hundreds in coworking fees.

Just remember – we’re guests in these spaces. Buy stuff, tip well, don’t hog the best table for 8 hours.
