80 Acres of Wildlife in City Park
Best Exhibits
Toyota Elephant Passage: The star attraction. A 10-acre Asian-themed habitat with elephants, rhinos, and other species. One of the most immersive elephant exhibits in North America.
Predator Ridge: African wild dogs, lions, and hyenas in naturalistic habitats. The viewing areas put you close to the action.
Primate Panorama: Gorillas, orangutans, and other primates. The gorilla family is a highlight, especially with recent babies.
Tropical Discovery: Indoor rainforest with free-flying birds, reptiles, and aquariums. Good escape on hot or cold days.
Pro Tip: Visit early morning when animals are most active. By afternoon, many are sleeping. The elephants are usually out and moving before 11am.
Planning Your Visit
Plan 3-4 hours for a full visit, 2 hours if you're focused on highlights. The zoo is hilly in places, so wear comfortable shoes. Stroller and wheelchair rentals available.
Summer weekends get crowded. Weekday mornings are ideal. Winter visits are quieter and some animals are more active in cooler weather.
Pack snacks and water - zoo food is expensive. Picnic areas are available near the entrance.
