Sloan's Lake is Denver's largest lake, surrounded by 177 acres of park and a thriving west side neighborhood. The 2.6-mile loop offers some of the best mountain views in the city, and the diverse community around it has made this area one of Denver's most vibrant.
Sloan's Lake Park
West Side's Crown Jewel
The Lake
At 177 acres, Sloan's Lake is Denver's largest natural lake. Non-motorized boating is allowed—kayaks, SUPs, and small sailboats are common sights. Fishing is popular from the shores.
The Loop
The 2.6-mile paved path circles the entire lake. Less crowded than Washington Park but equally popular with runners, walkers, and cyclists. The mountain views from the west side are spectacular.
The Neighborhood
The Sloan's Lake neighborhood has exploded in recent years. Great restaurants, coffee shops, and breweries line the streets around the park. After your walk, there's plenty to explore.
Pro Tip: The Dragon Boat Festival in July transforms the lake with races and celebrations. It's one of the largest Asian-American cultural events in the country.
