City Park's perimeter trail offers 3.5 miles of paved path through Denver's largest park. The iconic view of downtown with the mountains behind is one of the most photographed scenes in Colorado. Combine your loop with a visit to the zoo or museum.

Denver's Largest Park Trail
The Views
The Money Shot: From the east side of Ferril Lake, looking west. Downtown Denver with mountains behind, reflected in the lake. Best at sunrise or on clear days after a storm.
Mountain Panorama: The western edge of the park offers unobstructed views of the entire Front Range.
The Trail
Perimeter Loop: 3.5 miles around the park's edge. Flat, paved, wide enough for everyone.
Internal Paths: Add the paths around Ferril Lake and through the gardens for extra distance. The lake loop adds about 0.8 miles.
Less Crowded: While popular, City Park sees less running traffic than Wash Park. More families, fewer fitness crowds.
Pro Tip: Summer Sundays feature City Park Jazz, a free concert at the pavilion. Plan your loop to end there, bring a blanket, and enjoy live music.
