The Hike
Summit Trail: The main path to the top. Steady climb with switchbacks. About 2.5 miles each way if going direct.
Loop Options: Combine trails for a 6.6-mile loop. The Green Mountain Trail, Summit Trail, and Lonesome Trail make a good circuit.
The Top: 360-degree views. Denver skyline to the east, Red Rocks and mountains to the west. On clear days, you can see Pikes Peak.
Know Before You Go
Difficulty: Moderate. The climb is steady but not technical. Good fitness required.
Timing: 2-3 hours for the full loop. Start early on summer days to avoid heat - no shade on the upper trail.
Dogs: Allowed on leash. Bring water for them too.
