Trail Segments

Chatfield to Downtown (South Section): More natural, follows river through Englewood and into Denver. Connects to Bear Creek and other trails.

Downtown / Confluence (Central): Urban stretch past Elitch's, REI, and Confluence Park. Meets Cherry Creek Trail. Kayakers play in the whitewater park.

RiNo to Brighton (North Section): Industrial turning suburban. Less scenic but functional for commuting. Wildlife increases north of I-76.

Key Access Points

Confluence Park: Where Cherry Creek meets the Platte. The trail hub. Limited parking - bike or take light rail.

Ruby Hill Park: Good parking, connects to Bear Creek Trail. Sledding in winter.

Johnson Habitat Park: Restored wetland north of downtown. Great bird watching.

Pro Tip: The downtown section has some rougher areas. Stick to daytime hours and ride with a buddy for the stretch through RiNo and north.
